The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service works in plain clothes. The personnel of this branch are employed as specialists in connection with various aspects of crime detection.

The Gold Coast Police Force now called the Police Service was Formed in 1894 but the real police work started in the then Gold Coast, now the Republic of Ghana, in the year 1921.

Third Batch of Ninety Nine National Service Personnel have graduated into the Urban Traffic Management Module at the National Police Traffic school – Tesano, Accra.

A speech read on behalf of the Inspector General of Police by the Commanding officer of the   Accra Central MTTD, ACP Anderson Fosu-Ackaah advised the gradua      nds to work with due diligence and integrity in order to make the module a successful one. 

He added that the module as developed by the police with assistance from the National Service Secretariat will go a long way to help the country by reducing Traffic congestion in some parts of the country.

Mr. Ackaah used the opportunity to thank all stakeholders and also called for their support to sustain the module. 

Present at the occasion were; the Commandant of Police Academy, ACP Mr. Adu Amankwaah, Regional Director NSS, Anastasia Zanoo, Director of Planning, National Road Safety Commission, Mr. David Osafo Adonteng and Director for Deployment at the NSS, Emma Hammond.

Personnel of the Ghana Police Marine Unit have been charged to join hands with stakeholders of the fisheries industry to fight illegal, Unregulated and Unreported Fishing [IUU] in Ghana.

POLICE MILITARY TO STRENGTHEN TIES

The Military and the Police have resolved to strengthen co-operation towards improved security and maintenance of law and order in the country.
