The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service works in plain clothes. The personnel of this branch are employed as specialists in connection with various aspects of crime detection.

The Gold Coast Police Force now called the Police Service was Formed in 1894 but the real police work started in the then Gold Coast, now the Republic of Ghana, in the year 1921.

Receiving the key to the facility, the Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP/Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohonu lauded the gesture by the residents of Amanfrom, especially Dr. Appiah, and assured them of Police commitment to maintaining security in the area.
As part of Police efforts to maintain law and order in the community the Accra Regional Police Commander also donated two Yamaha motorbikes to the Post for patrol on behalf of the Police Administration. In addition to that, the Police Administration also donated 100 bags of cement and 2,500 blocks to the Amanfrom Residents Association, as its support for the Police Station they are putting up.
It would be recalled that there was an upsurge of criminal activities in  Amanfrom, a developing community near Kasoa, which was promptly responded to by the Police, who have managed to restore calm to the place.

Personnel of the Ghana Police Marine Unit have been charged to join hands with stakeholders of the fisheries industry to fight illegal, Unregulated and Unreported Fishing [IUU] in Ghana.

POLICE MILITARY TO STRENGTHEN TIES

The Military and the Police have resolved to strengthen co-operation towards improved security and maintenance of law and order in the country.
